I can tell you that photography is my life. I live it, breath it, eat it, sleep it, dood, i even shower in it. I want to be able to show the outside world my world with my photography. My friends, my moods, the places i have been, how i feel about certain things from politics to the current situation with my roommates. I want to document my life with photos. When I am old and gray i want my biography to be a huge compilation of photographs. No words. I want my photography to speak for itself. To me that is the point of photography.

I have only taken high school photo classes and i know that i still need to learn more about anything ranging from certain cameras i can use to studio lighting. Honestly, i never expect to stop learning about photography. BUT college isn't really my thing. I would rather be out teaching myself how to do all of the techniques and teach myself how to use things like filters and flashes. As naive as that may sound, I still need some guidance. Not someone telling me what to do necessarily but someone to help me along and give me information about what I want to learn next. I would like to consider myself self-sufficient. I am willing to listen If someone is willing to teach me.

"Photography is not about cameras, gadgets and gismos. Photography is about photographers. A camera didn't make a great picture any more than a typewriter wrote a great novel." - Peter Adams

I carry my little point and shoot camera around everywhere and when i get my Nikon you better believe she will be around my neck at all times!

Photography Equipment

right now i am using a simple point and shoot camera; Canon PowerShot SD600. BUT for my 21st birthday i am getting either a Nikon D40 or Nikon D40x. I would prefer the D40x because it is a 10.1 mega pixel and i like to get my photos printed at 8x10 or higher.

After May 6 I can give you a proper list.
